other beer blogs are lame

dudes and dudettes: i just spent 10 hours looking at like 500 beer blogs. and they all were so boring. I mean fall asleep wake up with an imprint of the "H" key on forehead kind of boring. Generally I categorize the beer blogs into 2 categories. The first is "wow, look how cool I am because I know the president/brewer of x brand, first drinker of blah, blah brand or founder of x festival." See pic of me in theback room/judge's room, or just generall part of it all, etc, etc....Category 2 is "here I am doing x". Here I am having the oldest ale on the planet at the first tavern know to humanity. Here I am drinking a beer made with the only hops grown in Estonia. Here I am in the most expensive Inn in the Berkshires having a bottle of x of which there are only 80 cases made. Great.

Don't get me wrong. I am all for handmade artisan beers. There is a wonderful tradition of brewing in this country and all over the world and exploring the rich history and tradition of brewing is great. But man I feel like I am seeing cousin Arnie's slide show from his trip to Europe last year. This is simply not most people's experience. Most people drink mass produced domestics and imports. That is reality. And there ain't a damn thing wrong with it. This is the blog for you.
